Chalet in the Chaudière Appalaches (02.01.-05.01.2003)

On January 2nd, 14 international students and one Canadian travelled to St. Magliore, a small town about 100km south from Québec City. We stayed in a small chalet in the mountains where it was possible to go downhill and cross-country skiing. On the first evening, 10 of us arrived very late at the chalet, as we had been in Québec City before, but when we stepped inside the house, we were surprised to find an already prepared dinner:

Starting at the bottom left, clockwise:
Sebastian (Germany), Ségolène (France), John (Britian), Andreas (Germany), Philipp & Maggie (Germany), Esther (Germany),
Matthieu (France), Valérie (France), André (Canada), Yoann (France), Juliette (France), Markus (Germany) and Murad (France)

On the next day some of us decided to go downhill skiing at the nearby Massive du Sud. Of course, we had to try the "piste extrême" right away:

Many more photos were made on this trip, but unfortunately my camera refused to work after a while because it was too cold and the batteries too weak. I hope I can add more pictures here soon.

On the last day we went to some frozen waterfalls that were only a few kilometres away from the chalet:

The goodbye-photo with our very friendly landlords

To my very embarassment, I managed to drive the rental car into a space that appeared to be the garden of our landlord. Before, I thought it belonged to the parking area, but suddenly the car sank deep into the snow, making every future movement impossible. Oh my god. Ten minutes later it seemed as if half of the town people were gathered around the car. Finally, somebody pulled me out of the snow with his pickup.

Embarassing...
