Dogsledding in the Charlevoix area (08./09.03.2003)

Dogsledding is a must for all winter tourists and an old tradition in Québec. Thus we went to the Charlevoix area, about 80km north of Québec City, to go dogsledding.

Philipp, in control of the sleigh, and Maggie, just lazy.

I was quite amazed about how strong and fast these dogs are. AS they are kept in cages throughout the night, they are very eager to run in the morning, and it is nearly impossible to stop them. Additionally, it is somehow not posible to keep them from pissing every now and then and use their paws to remove the dirty snow afterwards, which is not very nice for the person sitting in front in the sleigh.

Somebody had the crazy idea to go camping this weakend. For this, we went to the nearby "Parc des Grandes Jardins". In the evening, we cooked on a camping stove and made some hot wine:

After a fairly cold night, we woke up to stormy winds that unfortunately put some damage to our tents.
