Whitewater Rafting (08.05.2003)
On this morning in May, the most courageous exchange students of Montréal set off to go whitewater rafting on the famous and dangerous 'La Rouge', about 80km northwest of the city. In the morning, despite every weather forecast, the sun was shining, but even though we thought it wasn't necessary because of our strong rafting skills, we put on our wetsuits and a complete rafting equipment:

The team (from left to right): Vincent, Julien, Ségolène, me, Ahmad and Sabir.
The trip then began with a rather shaky bus ride (in an old school bus) with very bad street conditions to the actual starting point for rafting.

Together with two other French girls and two instructors, we entered our boat, and before we had actually realized what was going on, we were already in in the middle of some rapids:

You can see Ségolène in front on the left side, behind her Vincent, and me further back. On the right side, Julien is in front, behind him Sabir and Ahmad.
I have to mention that in this rapid most other boats lost at least half of their team (some even capsized entirely). We did this rapid twice and only once someone fell from the boat. This shows how incredible the team spirit was. Later, however, some other boats declared war on us, so after all we all managed to fall into the 4 degrees cold water.
Ahmad and me did some experiments with these extremely cheap throw-away cameras, so maybe we will have more photos soon.
After this amazing experience, we were finally glad to be able to put on dry clothes again, and we were all extremely hungry. The last photo shows us shortly before depart in front of our beloved bus.
